However, when it comes to marriage, they do not allow their daughters to marry the man of their choice. All of the events in the story take place in letters.

                  Where Darmakanon is narrating her memories of her beloved friend Maryam, who married and moved to England, Darmakanon was first sent to Lahore to study medicine. She develops feelings for a boy named Hasheer.
